"CLELIA", MALVASIA, PROVINCIA DI PAVIA, IGT, 2006
  Tenuta Maggiore

This comes from Lombardy’s Oltrepo Pavese, literally “other side of the Po River from Pavia”. It is bordered by Piedmont, Liguria and Emilia-Romagna. The area makes some wonderful wines that often don’t get the attention they truly deserve.

The name, "Clelia", on the label is in honor of Grandmother Clelia, who worked in the family vineyards until she died at 98.

Tasting Notes:
This is clean, fresh, and fruity (yet bone dry). It fills your head with big, full aromas and flavors of grapefruit, lemons, limes, grass and sage.

Review:
"This open, amiable pale-straw-color wine shows off the Malvasia variety with a luscious pink-grapefruit scent scent and full-bodied flavors of grapefruit and citrus, crisp and sufficiently acidic to make its light fresh-fruit sweetness come across as dry."
