PINOT GRIGIO, COLLIO, DOC, 2016
Ronco dei Pini di Novello G. & C. snc

Ronco dei Pini’s 35 acres of vineyards are located in the rolling hills of Friuli in the north-eastern part of Italy, bordering Slovania. More precisely the winery lies nestled in the hills between Prepotto and Spessa di Cividale with most of the grapes grown in the DOC area of Collio Goriziano. Ronco dei Pini is owned by Claudio and Giuseppe Novello, who took it over in 1997.

Notes about this wine: Finally, some of the leading wineries of Friuli have quit trying to compete with the Veneto and other regions for the cheap, flavorless Pinot Grigio market. These Friuli winemakers have returned to the old method of fermenting the grapes on their grey skins (grigio = grey). This boosts flavor and alcohol slightly and adds color, a bit of a pinkish hue.  We are certain you will enjoy this change!

Tasting Notes: Elegant, full and firm in body, with minerally and citrusy flavors.
