![]() One bicchiere Gambero Rosso, Italian Wines 2007 |
| When
you think of the region of Basilicata, you
think of Aglianico del Vulture. Michele Laluce's 13 acre vineyard grows
in the volcanic soils of Monte Vulture located in Ginestra.
The grapes for this wine are grown in the Zimberno vineyard. 2004 Vintage was a late harvest between October 20th and November 11th, 2004. Uncertified Organic Wine (Producer states they do not use artificial fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides. While we cannot prove the veracity of this, we also have no reason to believe it is not true.) Tasting notes: Medium-bodied, seductively soft and velvety smooth on the palate, it brims with plumy, briary, unctuously rich, ripe, black cherry aromas and flavors. |

| RECENT VINTAGE
- 2003 * * * (Three Stars) Excellent "Despite near-infernal temperatures in 2003, this wine is still fresh, with peppery red berry flavors and fine minerals." Food&Wine’s Wine Guide 2007 92 - "The third vintage from this 15 acre estate, this is textbook aglianico, neither overripe nor overwooded. Instead, it relies on its juicy and mouthwatering pomegranate flavors, herbal notes, lasting minerality and lively acidity to charm and seduce. For eggplant parmigiana and other lusty dishes." Wine & Spirits Magazine June 2006 One
bicchiere"Michele Laluce makes several wines from his six hectares of vineyard at the Vulture cru of Ginestra. Aglianico del Vulture '03...has dense, fleshy red berry fruit." Gambero Rosso - Italian Wines 2006 “Another "Wow!" wine, it's dark garnet in color, full dark fruit and anise, subtle and complex, refined.” Robin Garr’s 30 Second Wine Advisor – May 22, 2006 |
