VERMENTINO DI SARDEGNA, "ANEI," DOC, 2005
  Cantina di Marrubiu-Isola-4Mori

Cantine di Marrubiu

The Marrubiu Winery was founded in 1957 by some wine growers of Marrubiu, San Nicolò D’Arcidano and Terralba. By 1969, they formed the coop called Marrubiu Social Winery. Its vineyard in 70,000 square meters in size. They produce the typical grape varieties of Sardinia, like Vermentino, Nuragus, Bovale, Monica, Sangiovese, and Cannonau.

The name of the firm is Cantina di Marrubiu - Isola - 4Mori. "Isola" means island and "4Mori" refers to the Sardinia flag.

We call this Vermentino "Anei" because in the western Sardinian dialect, "Anei" means "sand." So "Anei" reminds us of the precious sandy land where grew the grapes that made this lemony, crisp, fresh, clean and dry white wine.
